WE’RE BACK! Field Days 2021
The Field Days kicked off in Mingenew on August 11 and 12 and after the Expo was cancelled last year due to Covid, numbers were high with 2300 people through the gate on day 1.
With most water tanks full from the above average rainfall throughout the year there was plenty of clients looking to boost their water storage and catch the last of the winter rains.
Then came Dowerin on August 25th & 26th, and over the 2 days nearly 25,000 flocked through the gates in almost record numbers, with the largest crowd in more than 2 decades!
Day 1 the sun shone, and so did the smiles; and that was just the drive to get there. The countryside abundant with crops and canola with what looks to be a bumper harvest ahead.
Day 2 saw a slight change in the weather with a bit of rain …and wind! However, this did not seem to dampen their tank enthusiasm!
Finally, to bring the Fields Days to an end we ventured to Newdegate. A lot of things have changed since 2019 ..but the weather stayed true!
Despite the cold there were plenty of enquiries for diesel and fertiliser storage tanks with farmers looking to increase on-farm storage to eliminate any supply issues throughout the season.
The crops were looking outstanding in the surrounding areas, however the forecast of frost in the coming days did have the farmers on edge.
Lastly a big thank you to all the Committees Staff and Volunteers for the behind the scenes work to bring the field days to life. Well done!
See you all next year!
