Liquid Fertiliser - Storage

Liquid Fertiliser Storage

Tanks West is the leading manufacturer and supplier of liquid fertiliser storage tanks in Western Australia offering a range of products designed specifically for the secure, long-term storage and safe handling of your liquid fertiliser. Fibreglass is a world renowned composite material known for its tensile strength, impact resistance and superior thermal qualities. It is a material used extensively in a wide variety of industrial applications and it is proven in providing the best option for a volatile liquid such as liquid fertiliser.

Proven In the Field
The continuing growth in the use of liquid fertilisers has seen an increase in demand for on farm storage facilities. Tanks West has been supplying their rural customers with liquid fertiliser storage solutions for over a decade. The products are designed to handle the full range of liquids (including the low ph phosphorus blends) and being equipped with fast acting, easy to use gauges and valves, these storage tanks give peace of mind and efficiency during the busy seeding and spraying seasons.

The Material Advantages of Fibreglass Vs Polyethylene Liquid Fertiliser Storage Tanks

Tensile Strength At 25°C a Tanks West tank is 8 times stronger than a polyethylene tank
Thermal
Conductivity
Polyethylene conducts 55% more heat than fibreglass
Hardness At 25°C a Tanks West tanks is 10 times harder than a polyethylene tank
Tensile Modulus A tanks West Tank is 12 to 30 times stiffer than a polyethylene tank
Tensile Creep At 20°C polyethylene creeps (stretches) 30 to 50 times more than fibreglass, meaning that your Tanks West tank will not deform under loads like some polyethylene tanks.

*The above comparison of engineering properties is based on published data relating to the common grades of fibreglass and polyethylene used in tank manufacture.

What Makes Tanks West Liquid Fertiliser Tanks Superior?

Materials

Our liquid fertiliser tanks are manufactured using advanced resin technology and a dense matrix of glass fibre reinforcement, giving superior laminate strength (86 Newtons per millimetre in tensile load) to handle the increased loadings which occur due to the high specific gravity of liquid fertiliser (SG 1.33) and the new phosphorus based fertilisers. All Tanks West Liquid fertiliser products are built to handle liquids with a SG up to 1.5 ensuring the tank has a generous safety margin and will provide effective long-term storage of liquid fertilisers.

Lower Wall Height and Hoop Strength Band

Our unique design features a central hoop strength band. In combination with the lower profile of our tank, this greatly improves strength and longevity.

True Reading Level Gauge

This counter balanced gauge means that the level indicator tracks the tank volume. When the gauge is at the top, the tank is full. No more mistakes because the operator was in a hurry, you can see at a glance how much is left in the tank.

Safety Access Hatch

The two-part safety access hatch on all Tanks West fertiliser storage tanks restricts unauthorised entry to the tanks and provides your operators and family with an extra level of safety.

Chemical Resistance

Superior chemical resistance is achieved through the terephthalic resin system employed in these tanks. This advanced system ensures the tanks are equipped to handle a range of fertilisers, insecticides and herbicides, at temperatures up to 60°C. Catering for the more aggressive phosphorus and NPK fertilisers of the future is smart thinking and means growers will have their options covered into the future.

Industrial Grade Fittings

Stainless Steel valves and flanges provide increased resistance against corrosion and the moulded polyethylene fill line is more robust and long lasting than its PVC equivalent.

3” Fittings - Optional

These larger fittings can be installed during manufacture to allow faster liquid transfer rates, saving you precious time during busy periods.

Efficient On-Farm Delivery

Our fleet of purpose built delivery trucks ensures your storage tanks are delivered efficiently and on time by our professional drivers

Relationships with Key Suppliers
